This report highlights the importance of the church in the response to HIV and AIDS in Africa. Tearfund is seeking to increase significantly our work in HIV and AIDS. We are therefore keen to explore the current and potential role of the church in combating the epidemic, particularly in Africa. Research highlighted in this report shows that the church is dowing much, and could do much more. There are failures of communication between churches and international development agencies which need to be addressed. By working together, these two important groups could increase their joint impact. Tearfund is committed to promoting such cooperation.
