Tearfund's vision is to see millions of people released from material and spiritual poverty through a network of local churches. Our publications provide practical information that can help to bring about positive change. They aim to encourage and support local churches in bringing justice and transforming lives.

We produce several publications and CD Roms each year that share Tearfund's learning and experience with our partners and the wider development community.

You can find a book or article in English either by clicking on one of the links on the left-hand side or by using the search box below.  Click on 'Show more' for more search options. For books or articles in French, Spanish or Portuguese, use the search box in the relevant language zone.

There are three main types of publications, aimed at different audiences.

Footsteps is for grassroots health and development workers. It is produced every three months and each issue concentrates on a main theme. Recent Footsteps themes are literacy, facilitation skills, the impact of HIV and AIDS on children and pollution.

PILLARS Guides are designed for discussion-based learning in small groups.  They cover issues such as Healthy eating, Mobilising the community and Responding more effectively to HIV and AIDS.

ROOTS books aim to help Christian development organisations in their work. They provide detailed information on relevant topics such as Fundraising and Project cycle management. They are designed to help staff study and use them together.

Other publications include case studies, briefing papers on advocacy and children at risk guidelines, and the Umoja guides are also available on this site.
