Millennium Development Goals
By 2000 the international community had set itself an ambitious challenge – to halve poverty by 2015. World leaders, rich and poor alike, agreed to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) – a set of targets that include halving the number of people without safe water and sanitation, enabling every child to go to primary school and reduce child mortality by two thirds. Below we highlight some of this work.
