Advocacy toolkit

The Advocacy toolkit, produced in 2002, is Tearfund's main advocacy training resource.  It is split into two booklets.  The first includes sections on advocacy and development, and theology and advocacy.  The second covers a strategic planning process for advocacy.  It has been written as a self-facilitation manual, suitable for organisations working in community development who are keen to bring about long-term development through changing the policies and practices of those in power (whether local authorities, national governments, business or churches).

You can access the Advocacy toolkit by clicking here.

Below we have included a document outlining some possible training scenarios using the toolkit.

A supporting paper the mission of the church and the role of advocacy (PDF, 199K) goes into more details about the biblical basis for involvement in justice issues.
