HIV Umoja

A supplementary HIV facilitator's guide for use by facilitator's in churches involved with Umoja and who would like to identify if HIV is a current issue in the community. It is recommended that this guide is used in churches and communities who have already completed at least one cycle of Umoja. Publications

Tearfund is committed to sharing learning and good practice.

As well as documenting case studies and publishing policy and research, Tearfund has developed tools and resources to enable grassroots church groups and faith-based organisations to provide good practice responses to HIV.

Silent No More

Tearfund are partnering with Lambeth Palace, the Anglican Communion, Christian Aid and Restored to envision and mobilise the local church in addressing sexual violence. 

Tearfund are launching a report called "Silent No More" on Monday 21st March highlighting the challenges and untapped potential of the worldwide church in addressing this issue.

Good practice

Tearfund has developed Good Practice Guidelines to guide programme content in the five focus areas of Tearfund's HIV work. They include suggested indicators for monitoring and evaluation.

Tearfund's HIV response

Responding to HIV is a strategic priority for Tearfund. Tearfund's vision is that by 2015, in the communities where Tearfund and its local partners work, the spread of HIV will be halted and its impact reversed. This vision is based on the potential of the local church to play a distinctive role in the response to HIV.
